About Us

Our aim of Chicago’s Hounds & Foxes Track club is to practice and train Chicago youths, both male and female, in the proper and up to date training methods to compete on the both field and life skills. We will guide the athlete from the cradle to the grave. That means from youth (starting at age 2), elementary, high school, college, post-college, and the Master's Division. It is very important to us that our athletes are high achievers in academics and if needed, we will provide after school help in academics. Most of our past members in the Virgin Islands have gone on to make it in the legal, medical, business and education fields. They are now lawyers, doctors, financial businessmen, and educators. So by joining our club, you the parent and the student/athlete will be a part of the Hounds & Foxes family with all the support to achieve excellence.

History

The Hounds & Foxes Chicago branch was started by club founder T.A. Henderson to compliment the Virgin Islands branch. The club was established in 1975 at Grand Valley State University in Michigan by T.A. Henderson and Gary Martin. A women's team was formed at Grand Valley in 1990 when Gary Martin became Grand Valley's head coach. T.A. took the club to the VI in 1978 and became incorporated in 1980 by the VI track 7 Field Federation. The original concept of the club goes by the males being our “Hounds” and the females being our “Foxes.” Thanks to T.A.’s best fiend/ co-founder Charles Golphin for the V.I Branch, our Hounds and Foxes club remained alive and grew tremendously. He furthered the Club and took it to the next level by placing athletes in the Olympics.
